Story
hello my name is rebecca ashcroft, i would like to to say thankyou for taking the time to visit my fundraising page,
i am fundraising for a cuddle cot to donate to a hospital that is in need of one so grieving parents can have that precious time with there angel babies,
In loving memory of bobby ashcroft
Nothing can prepare you for your loss of a child.
On July 8th 2015 my world fell apart when we received the heartbreaking news that my little boy bobbys heart had stopped beating, i gave birth a few days later on the 10th july 2015 he was born at 7pm weighing 2lb 2oz During this devastating time the one thing that stays with me and always will is the support of my husband and my family and the heartfelt sympathy and the outstanding support of the midwives at calderdale royal hospital.
Until recently, parents bereaved through still birth or neonatal death had very little time with their baby before the funeral, this has however changed as specially designed "cuddle cots" are now available, giving parents that opportunity to bond with their child before they say their final goodbye.
The cuddle cot offers parents additional time to come to terms with the death of their baby, it is an incredible difficult time for parents and bereaved parents should be given the option of spending time with the baby. Providing families time through the use of a Cuddle Cot is encourage by midwives, and bereavment practitioners stillbirth/neonatal charaties.
Time allows the family to bond with their baby, whether thats changing a nappy, dressing the baby, taking photographs or simply staying close for some precious moments, allowing those special memories to be created. This does help families in deaing with there loss as it helped me with mine
my aim is to try and help families get that extra extended time with there child as they prepare to say goodbye

I hope this helps towards allowing more parents who've suffered a loss to get that time with their angel. You are doing a great thing here. Good luck in your efforts.

I have been there too. My first born son failed to take his first breath and died within moments of his birth. Those precious few hours do mean everything to parents and this is a wonderful thing
