On 30th December 2024 we lost a well respected and much loved member of the Cotgrave FC family.

Danny was an incredible coach to our current U12 Clarets and Whites, who set high standards for his players and even higher standards of himself. He has coached these boys with Paul Biddles pretty much since soccer school, and has won trophies, gained league promotions, and more importantly made memories for these boys that they’ll always remember.

Danny joined the cotgrave clarets 7 a-side team in 2020/2021. He was a great addition to the coaching team and the boys went from strength to strength winning the YEL Cup in May 2022, and the Saturday tournament at Filey 2024 going the whole weekend only dropping 1 game.

One of the greatest gifts in life is your time, and like so many involved with Cotgrave FC, Danny gave up so much of his time planning sessions, preparing for games, giving lifts, and setting up pitches, all because he loved football, and he loved the boys he was coaching.

Danny wasn't only a coach to the Claret and Whites but he set up a Futsal coaching program at SNA and a men's wellbeing team to support with mental health.

Danny will be missed by so many people his family, his friends and 16 lads who looked up to him not just as a coach, but an inspiration who's guidance and mentoring will stay with them for a lifetime.

He leaves behind his wife Holly, and their children Frankie and Lydia, who have been so brave in recent weeks whilst dealing with this tragedy..
