I am out of my comfort zone. A marathon is something I never thought I’d be able to do, and if you know me, I imagine you're also pretty surprised! It would mean a lot to know I’m helping a cause I’m passionate about.

Family Solutions offers a variety of non-court solutions for separated families; we're dedicated to helping people stay in control of their outcomes. We do this by helping change patterns of communication and by looking at what IS possible. Family separation is tough. It's hard to imagine a light at the end of the tunnel - it affects wider family, children and friends. If we can offer emotional support, the evidence suggests that couples and parents are able to find better lasting outcomes.

Our family psychotherapist works alongside mediators, lawyers and other family professionals, and looks at the emotional blocks that might be stopping positive communication. We can also offer counselling to one or all of the family, as well as therapy for children and parents.

Sadly, support like this isn't funded by the Government, nor can it be funded by Legal Aid. In an age where it is difficult to decide what to prioritise financially, we'd love to be able to offer all of our families help and support.

£100 could fund family or child therapy. It could help pay for a child to explain to a mediator how they are feeling, and what they‘d like their family to look like.
