Story

Back in 2016 the Calais 'Jungle' refugee camp was torn down. This was home to 10,000 people fleeing war, poverty and famine. There are currently close to 1000 people estimated to be living in the woods in and around Calais, many of them children. They have no shelter, no food, no acsess to water or medicine. If they try to build any kind of structure to shelter from the weather it is torn down by the police. They have been stripped of the most basic human rights, are dependant entirely on people like you and I do distribute food and water and are humiliated and harrassed by the police on a daily basis. Living in such harsh conditions means peoples imune systems are very weak. Scabies is a common occurance as people cannot wash their clothes easily, as is athletes foot as people cannot change their socks and often have wet feet for long periods. These conditions are easily treated but if left untreated can cause serious infection and are maddeningly itchy. Any money raised on this page will go towards buying athletes foot cream (99p in body care) Socks (£1 for 2 pairs in poundland) and treatment for scabies (£13.99 for 200ml bottle)
