I am a support worker of a lovely lady who has cerebral palsy and a variety of other issues. Despite her disabilities my lady has been denied any funding to purchase an electric wheelchair which she desperately needs. The chair she needs is quite specialised and needs to adjust her position in several different ways to eleviate pressure and help pain management. Six years ago my lady purchased one of these chairs having saved up for many years to do so. Recently the frame of this chair has buckled and having been looked at by an emgineer has been written off and she is no longer able to use it. This has had a dramatic effect on her quality of life. Not only has it significantly reduced her independence as sh cannot leave her home now alone but due to being confined to a manual chair she is in a lot of pain and at risk of pressure sores. Due to social care cuts my lady has no chance of raising the kind of money required to buy another specialised chair that she do desperately needs so I have taken the plunge and set up this page on the hopes I can raise the funds required to give her back her life.
