A relative of mine cannot afford the fees to provide the proper care for her husband, in the end she will have to sell her house in order to get the money for the proper care that he needs. I am not prepared to let her lose her partner and her home. There is a government scheme which will allow her to keep her 50% of the house and live out her last days there. I would very much like to help her and I aim to do a sponsored swim to do so.

Anyone who has met me knows I am not fit, I swim about as well as a brick so this is going to be a struggle for me. I plan to swim 50 lengths for every day that there is in June, this will total 1,500 lengths of the pool over the month. I decided on 50 lengths as the people that I am doing this for will soon have their 50th wedding anniversary.
