Story
Located in Granada, we will be working alongside La Esperanza, who are a volunteer group focusing on children’s education. It began in 2002 in one small village on the outskirts of the city and now helps over 2,000 children in several poverty-stricken areas. La Esperanza is non-profit and non-political and aims to benefit the long-term advancement of education in the ‘barrios’, in a non-invasive way.
We will go out into schools and assist the teachers, tutor young children, run sports programs, introduce children to computers, and help stimulate an interest in learning.Project work will be a combination of physical work, such as painting classrooms or building walls, and then spend time with the children in the afternoons. Throughout this project, we will be camping within a school’s grounds.
