I am helping the Nana Dee Foundation (NDF) raise funding. NDF is a small UK based registered charity. NDF aims to provide education and social welfare to disadvantaged children in Sierra Leone and Ghana up to the age of 18. Money raised will go towards the education of children 0-18 and building of an orphanage in Sierra Leone, which has been deeply affected by the recent flooding, the Ebola crisis and the civil war. 60% of the population in Sierra Leone is aged 25 and under whilst the literacy rate aged 15 plus is 48.1%. Child labour between the ages 5-14 is 48%. These figures underline how important education is to children and is the way out of poverty and dependency. I believe that all children should have the opportunity to an education and better life chances.
