Story
Lucy is an 8 year old girl who has Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus. She is paralysed from the chest down and is a full time wheelchair user.
Lucy loves arts and crafts, all things cbeebies, telling jokes, Disney music and movies. She loves spending time with her cousins and friends.
I have entered the Great Edinburgh Winter Run which is taking place in January 2017. This is to raise funds to get Lucy a Hippocampe all terrain wheelchair.
Why am i doing a run in the winter?? well i think every child should be able to go where ever they want. That includes paddling in the sea. Its the little things we take for granted that Lucy can't experience without expensive equipment. The Hippocampe will allow Lucy to go on beach walks with her cousins and friends, allow her to go on forest walks through bumps and mud without getting stuck. Allow her to manoeuvre through snow when her everyday wheelchair won't allow her.
The Hippocampe will no longer restrict the places Lucy can go. It's easily transportable so can be folded and put in the car. It can even go abroad so Lucy can test the beaches in warmer climates.
Help me raise the funds needed to give Lucy the opportunities every child should experience.

Good luck Becky, hope Lucy manages to get her chair! All children should be able to experience all the things more able bodied children do!

I am a working mum of two children. I know how hard it is to buy the basic things for my children so understand when my sister wants to get what should be basic stuff for my niece but costs 3-4 times as much.
