I am planning to spend three weeks volunteering in Zanzibar in the area of mental health. This will include time spent at the public mental health unit "Kidongo Chekundu Mental Hospital" and the three facilities for drug withdrawal (Sober Houses)

I will be volunteering as an Occupational Therapist during my time in Zanzibar, and will work offering my skills and knowledge from my current role. The area of mental health isn't that well funded in Zanzibar, and they do not have OTs employed so any time I can spend there will be beneficial to the project. I also hoping to use the time to pass on skills to staff at the units, but also learn about mental health in a disadvantaged country as well develop new skills from this time.

I am aiming to raise money to fund the project but also to purchase therapeutic items that will be useful for the therapeutic interventions.

I will be completing various things to raise money, but any contribution will be greatly appreciated and can be done through this page.
