Story
Tooting Community Kitchen (Registered Charity No: 119091) is a fantastic local charity that works to alleviate poverty in South West London. Anyone who has lived, worked, or visited Tooting in the last six years will likely have seen these guys out and about on Upper Tooting Road, handing out food parcels rain or shine. Along with two food stalls, it also runs a food bank, a soup kitchen, various workshops, and lots more.
We aim to act as a practical and emotional support network providing stability to our guests.
TCK is reliant on donations and volunteers, and like many others is feeling the ongoing impact of the cost of living crisis. I’m looking to fundraise £700 which would cover the average weekly cost of the vital day-to-day services that it provides - everything from foodbank supplies to hot meals to emergency food packs for families.
Having never run more than 12.5K in my entire life (and having have complained a LOT about that occasion), running 21.1K in less than six weeks time is absolutely daunting to say the least! Being able to support such an amazing local charity would mean the absolute world and make those kilometres on 19 May (!) very worthwhile.
Please do consider donating if you can, every pound really makes a huge impact to this organisation. You can read more about the work of TCK on their website here: https://www.tck.org.uk/what-we-do
