Story

Hello,

On 14th September 2020 I will be doing a sponsored walk to the Snowdon Summit and back for Every Life Counts. As well as doing various other events throughout the year (See below).

If you can spare anything, no matter how small - please, please consider giving to this amazing team!

Saving one dog will not change the world, but surely for that one dog, the world will change forever. "

Our Story

In September 2019 we rescued our dog Ellie, from a UK charity called Phoenix Rehoming. Phoenix are amazing and work with an amazing rescue shelter in Romania, called Every Life Counts. Every Life Counts is a small team who work tirelessly to save cats and dogs in Romania. Quite literally saving their lives on a daily basis.

Romania & Every Life Counts

In Romania there is a high proportion of street, stray and abandoned dogs, who without the help of rescue shelters like Every Life Counts will end up in a high kill shelter, being hit by a car and left to die, or scavenging for scraps.

Winter is a particularly hard time for these animals as temperatures regularly fall well below freezing (up to -30) so sadly a lot of these animals freeze to death.

Ioana and her team work so hard every day to help save these poor animals and I dread to think what would have happened to Ellie without their help.

In 2020 alone they have already rescued a paralysed dog, a pregnant dog hit by a car who lost her babies in the accident, a mum and her babies who were hit by a car, a puppy who was hit by a car and broke both back legs, countless stray puppies that would have frozen to death otherwise (some of the litter in one case did!), puppies abandoned in a plastic bag outside the rescue, and several adult dogs that desperately needed rescuing from appalling conditions.

None of this comes cheap and they are in desperate need of funds to be able to pay for vet bills, rent, wages, foster fees, vaccinations, passports for the animals to come to the UK, transport to come to the UK, food for the animals, and the list goes on and on.

They do not have a secure income stream so are relying on donations which they desperately need in order to be able to carry on the work they are doing.

The Government has now told them that they will be shut down without electricity and water, we would also like to secure their future and buy the land but need help to do it.

The team rescues sick and abandoned animals , neuters and feeds stray cats and dogs and cares for as many as they can at the rescue , all with a very small team. Animals rescued then are re-homed in the UK and across Europe- if you are interested in adopting please contact them or Phoenix Rescue (ask me if you want their details).

How You Can Help

- Sponsoring my walk - you can donate on this page (or to me in person) any time, all the funds raised will go straight to Every Life Counts (my accommodation etc for the walk will be paid for myself).

- Buying items - I have a variety of items for sale on my Facebook page ( https://www.facebook.com/rebekah.l.hutchinson ) and in the Facebook Marketplace, including clothes and items that have been donated to me, a LARGE selection of DVD's, healthy home made dog biscuits and liver brownies, dog/puppy hampers.

- Coming to an event - I am teaming up with K9 Connections (Jess) who is amazing! She does a variety of classes and we take Ellie to her fun days. Jess has amazingly agreed to help me organise some fun days to raise money for the charity - these will cost £10 and have a variety of fun things for your dog to do as well as a chance to play with the other dogs at the end of the session. The winner will win a prize and a rosette and there will be dog treats/toys/accessories to buy on each event to help raise more money. Dates etc and more information coming soon!

Even the smallest donation makes a massive difference to these guys so please help if you can!

Every penny helps to secure the rescues future and help the needy animals , any money we raise over this amount will help to build a cattery for the kittens.

We thank you in anticipation from the Uk team of supporters
