Story

Derby Grammar School’s racing car programme inspires engineers and racing car drivers of the future, but now we are looking for help and support to develop our car ready for the 2019 season

Our Formula 24 and 24+ teams drive their own car, fondly named The Stag, and take part in the Greenpower racing series at tracks across the country.

At the end of each season the team look to develop the car ready for the next one based on what they’ve learnt over the year. This often requires a complete strip down and rebuild.

This year, the teams have big plans and are looking for support to help them improve on last year’s best-ever performance. Can you help the rebuild by offering donations to help to purchase components? We are after:

- Aluminium section to fabricate chassis and steering: £200

- HYLIX 16*1 1/4-349*23mm-Full Carbon Wheel Rim fit Brompton (6 required): £95 each, £570 for 6

- Epoxy resin, core material and woven carbon fibre cloth: £300

Gloss kitchen worktop – 1800 x 600mm (for making flat composite sheet): £100

TOTAL: £1170

In return, we will list you as a sponsor on our F24/F24+ website and, if you are an organisation, carry your company logo on The Stag.

We are looking forward to the 2019 season with our biggest F24 and F24+ teams ever, and have plans in the pipeline to expand to two cars so we can offer even more boys the opportunity to get involved in 2020.
