Story

My Name is Hannah, about 5 years ago I was diagnosed with a condition called PMDD. A condition that affects 1 in 20 women and AFAB individuals, impacts so much on a person's life including their mental health.

Since my diagnosis I have set up groups in and around Bristol to help support families affected by PMDD or mental health.

Last year we secured an allotment to run it and provide a space for people who needed extra support around their mental health or living with PMDD, to have a safe space they can come along to.

I've worked very hard sourcing materials, building, planning, using my own money to create this space.

Due to my own mental health taking a dip these last few months, I haven't been there as often as I wanted! but now after fighting my own demons, I'm back to getting it ready to start in time for spring and summer.

I regularly check the allotment, even tho I haven't been great in myself.
The other day there was no issues down there, but this week was a different story.

This week a group of youths broke into the allotment and vandalised and broke the greenhouse, over turned beds and left lots of litter of alcohol cans!

As an allotment owner I am upset, but I am more hurt and upset that now I am delayed in being able to provide a safe space for people, a place to run groups that can help people with their mental health.

It is what it is, the damage has been done, I just have to rebuild what I can from the mess and work harder to make a difference to those that really need help and support. It maybe needed for one of the individuals that smashed up my allotment, that they need my support, but I hope my hard work, dedication will show them I still care and want to help, even though they have hurt me!

I'm asking for your help to raise funds to buy a new greenhouse and we can fix the damage caused, ready to be up and running in spring.

Thank you
