**UPDATE 3**The Inverdee House Bike User Group have raised £170 in a bake sale for the event so I'm going to deduct another £170 from the total as they'll transfer the proceeds straight to our bank account. Thank you so much!
**UPDATE 2** Paths for all have approved match funding for our event!
**UPDATE** Pedal on Parliament are going to match donations up to £500 which means if we can get to £500 then we'll already be at the £1,000 point. I've edited the total amount to incorporate the match funding. We now only need to raise £1,821.

We want to reclaim the streets for people to cycle, walk, rollerblade, scooter, or whatever your chosen form of active travel is. For two hours on Sunday 3rd May 2020 the people of Aberdeen will be able to enjoy a central city free from traffic and air pollution. We will close Union Street (from Union Terrace to Broad Street) - Broad Street - Upperkirkgate - School Hill - Back Wynd - Little Belmont Street - Belmont Street from 11am - 1pm.
These are the same streets the city council closes for the Tour Series. We believe cycling is not just for professional athletes but for everyone: for children, for women, for the elderly. This is our chance, as people who live in Aberdeen, to cycle the city centre on car-free streets. There will also be cycling lessons for adults and a Dr Bike.
But we need your help. To close these streets the city council is charging us £2321.10. Please help us by sponsoring this event.
Cycling is a legitimate mode of transport that’s good fun, good for our health, and good for the environment. Getting more people out of cars and onto bikes will see enormous benefits for our economy and for the NHS. We will also see reductions in air pollution and carbon emissions. Making our roads inviting for people cycling and walking is
key to realising these benefits. Reclaim the Streets 2020 is our chance to cycle in Aberdeen and feel safe. It's a taste of what Aberdeen could be like with proper cycling infrastructure and a reminder of what the city was like before it became choked with cars.
If we do not reach our target of £2321 then we will refund the money.
