Story

I'm the Rector of St Faith's in Havant. I have today received an overwhelming response to a simple post on Facebook, which sought to answer the question 'What is the Church doing to help the homeless?'. A number of people who responded have asked how they can support our work - across a wide range of needs. I have therefore set up this quick, simple crowd-funding page to enable folks to donate to the 'Rector's Discretionary Fund' - a fund, held in the St Faith's accounts, established to provide help to those in need (whether as a result of homelessness or other life crisis). Gifts to this fund cannot be gift-aided, because gifts made here are not being made under a registered charity account. (Registering the church with Just Giving will take some time, a lot of paper work and a monthly service fee to Just Giving!). I therefore ask for your trust that any funds donated here will be properly sent on to the Church Accounts. A record of all payments will be kept in our Parish Office. Please note that 5% of your donation will be deducted by Just Giving for their administrative costs. If you are local to Havant, and wish to give directly (by cash or cheque) donations can be made via white envelopes held in the church. (Those donations CAN be gift aided if you are a UK taxpayer who will pay enough tax to cover the gift aid we would claim on your donation). Which ever way you choose to give, thank you for your generosity.
