Red Admiral Music Academy is a community group based in Mawdesley, Lancashire who specialise in teaching children and adults how to play brass instruments and percussion in a fun and encouraging environment. We started in June 2014 to provide a fun environment for learning to play brass instruments and percussion, and every year we celebrate our 'birthday' with an end of season finale to allow all our musicians to perform and truly celebrate their development.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have had to stop all our rehearsals and cancel our all our concerts to ensure all our players, their families and our audiences remain as safe as possible. But, in true Red Admiral spirit, we have risen to the challenge and we've been sending weekly newsletters out with practice tips and pieces and thanks to technology, we've held virtual rehearsals and held some daft quizzes and games nights to help our members stay connected. This has been so important for all our members who are keyworkers and needed an opportunity to unwind doing something they love, and staying in touch with extended band family and friends, but also to continue making music as best we can !!

We wanted this year's annual concert to provide an injection of fun and to provide all our Red Admirals with a special memory to reflect on the lockdown period during a time where there perhaps been sadness and challenges in everyone's lives.
