Story

As some of you will know 'Period Poverty' is growing problem in UK schools at the moment. Girls are missing out on their education due to being unable to afford menstrual products. In a recent survey 1 in 10 girls were found to be in this situation with 48% of girls admitting to missing school because of their periods. We all know how damaging this is to their education. Our school is in a particularly deprived area and my guess is the 1 in 10 national statistic is considerably higher here In Cornwall.

The Red Box project is a nationwide voluntary organisation started to try and combat period poverty in schools. It is purely run on donations and is designed to provide a discreet supply of free menstrual products for our students by placing boxes in local schools.
