I've raised £200 to provide all the items we need to support girls in period poverty in our area, through local schools.

1 in 10 girls in the UK have been unable to afford sanitary wear. 12% have had to improvise sanitary wear because they can't afford proper items. Nearly half of girls have missed an entire day of school because of their period, of which 59 per cent have made up an alternate excuse. The Red Box Project is a community group that aims to tackle period poverty by providing local schools with red boxes full of sanitary products, so that girls who can't access sanitary wear at home can get it for free. We are hoping to raise some funds to help us buy the boxes and bins we need for donation points, the paper bags we include in the boxes for discretion, posters, banners and other items to help raise awareness and donations!
