Story
Cheerleading has such a strong youth focus, it's popularity has grown amongst all age groups from 4-15+ years. Cheerleading was further elevated in popularity when it was granted 'Provisional Status' by the International Olympic Committee in 2016, placing the sport on the pathway for possible inclusion in the 2024 Olympic Games.
Red Hot Flames, established in 1996, is the largest and most successful All Star Cheer and Dance Program in Salford. We rapidly grew to over 150 members and our teams have gained regional, national and grand champion titles and have enjoyed success in European and World Championships.
While Red Hot Flames' achievements are a testament to our athletes and coaching team's dedication, we are in danger of becoming victims of our own success. Due to our training facilities being shared, and therefore multipurpose, we are currently unable to offer our athletes such benefits as: permanent professional tumbling facilities and the all-important full size, competition standard Harlequin dance floor, which is essential when competing at National or International level.
The athleticism and developments within the sport of cheerleading mean we also need to look to the future and provide a coaching development structure.
We are seeking support in two areas: to improve training facilities and to provide opportunities in education for the forthcoming generation of coaches. We are hoping to ensure the region's young athletes can continue to advance in the sport of cheerleading at National and International events. We strive to offer the local community the opportunity to develop skills safely and efficiently within our program, whilst promoting sport culture in our region.
We hope you will support the Red Hot Flames in reaching our goals.
