Weʼre raising £100 to Help a community and cause that my Dad felt so passionately about. Led by Lee, The King of the Dingle at The Florrie community food bank.
Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered nonprofit.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
My Dad was my hero and best friend. Sadly this week he took his last breath after battling so bravely and headed towards the golden sky. To the peace and freedom he had earned here on earth.
He was a huge red! He was also a huge advocate against the poverty and injustice that is unfortunately experienced in our city. Growing up I would often remember him saying ‘you never look down on anyone unless it‘s to help them back up.’
At a time in my life when I have never experienced such pain and sadness, I know my Dad would be willing me on to see every positive in life and do what I can to make a difference. So I plan to do just that in his name.
This year we watched a video of Mane surprising Lee (The King of the Dingle) for all of his hard work and effort volunteering for The Florrie community foodbank. My Dad and I were touched in so many ways by the story, top class fella, massive red and great cause- that unfortunately is an essential part of feeding Liverpool’s most vulnerable families. Lee has Down Syndrome and it’s clear to see, this voluntary job gives him so much pride and purpose, something many of you know I am extremely passionate about.
I have been lucky enough to work with service users and now teach students with a wide range of learning needs and disabilities. Seeing them content, thriving and recognised as vital members of our community is my ultimate goal. Whether this be through education, volunteering or employment. A goal my Dad very much shared. Lee is there, at The Florrie doing just that.
From such a young age my Dad taught me to be scouse and proud, to embrace and love every inch of diversity in our beautiful city and to help anyone in need. I would love to donate any sum of money on his name to Lee, so he can continue to support this fantastic charity. If you have been kind enough to send me a lovely message or like about my Dad’s passing, that means you may have been touched by our family at some point in your life. If every one of you were to donate just £1 we would raise over £200 for this cause. If you can please do, nothing would bring me greater comfort than to see my Dad’s name and spirit live on in this way. He would be “buzzin”.
Thank You, Sarah xxx

So sorry for your loss Sarah. What an amazing amount raised so far in your Dads memory and for a service helping so many people. It’s certain he would be immensely proud of you.
