I've raised £3500 to Support refugees in Malaysia throughout the COVID-19 pandemic

The refugee youth in Malaysia are among the most vulnerable and hardest hit throughout the current COVID-19 pandemic. They often do not have the privilege of social distancing, lack access to the formal education system, are unable to access healthcare services, while their families face immense housing and job insecurities as a result of Malaysia’s Movement Control Order.
We are fundraising to help refugee families and learning centre communities through this crisis and would be very grateful for your support. This fundraiser will benefit the Mon Learning Centre, Kachin Learning Centre, the Zomi Refugee Committee, and several families in need of urgent relief. All donations will go towards providing rent aid and food necessities. Any excess funds we are able to raise will be used to provide additional refugee households with rent relief.
Whether you are able to share our page or donate however much you can, every little bit helps and will be hugely appreciated by the refugees we work with. If you'd like more details about the communities we are supporting, please feel free to reach out to us at horizonofhopemy@gmail.com.
Wishing you and your family good health and safety at all times. Thank you so much in anticipation for your amazing support!
All the love,
Horizon of Hope
Additional background information
There are currently around 180,000 refugees registered with UNHCR in Malaysia, including 47,000 children under the age of 18. Malaysia is not party to the UN Refugee Convention and thus lack a legal and administrative framework to support the refugees living here. Refugee children in Malaysia have no access to the formal education system and rely on an informal network of community-based learning centres as their sole source of education.
