Story

Our 4 year old son Regan was diagnosed with multiple life threatening food allergies around 6 months old. Due to the severity of his allergies he is required to carry Epipens everywhere he goes, as he is at high risk of anaphylaxis.

After suffering an anaphylactic reaction at 2 years old, we as a family have worked hard in raising awareness about the severity of allergies and the importance of carrying adrenaline auto injectors, such as Epipens.

Due to the unpredictable nature of allergies we believe access to life saving adrenaline should be available in schools and public places, which is why we are fundraising to have a Kitt Medical anaphylaxis kit installed at his school, Shorne C of E School. "Like a defibrillator, but for allergies."

20% of serious allergic reactions to food happen whilst a child is at school, and these can happen in someone with no prior history of food allergy.

Unfortunately there is still a lack of government funding and mandatory regulations when it comes to allergy care in education, meaning families are often having to take this responsibility on with the support of amazing organisations, like Kitt Medical.
