Story

We need your help to raise fund for our work in order to reduce social isolation!

Lyann Kennedy and Gemma Wright began training together to run the Great Eastern Run on Sunday 13 October 2019. Gemma unfortunately became injured but is still supporting Lyann in her training runs as she sits along side her on a bike!

15 September Lyann ran her first 10 mile run along the Flitch Way starting from Rayne. It was a great help to know after running to near Dunmow return there was cake and coffee at the Booking Cafe on the finish line!

On 13 October the Great Eastern Run was unfortunately cancelled due to a police incident. However this did not stop Lyann in her tracks!

As we trained up to 12 miles on the Flitch Way we decided that on the 20 October we would fulfill the full 13.1 miles!

Many of Lyanns friends come and supported her to get round the track and Lyanns partner Atia and her bestie Gem ran and cycled alongside her.

We would like to thank everyone so far for helping us at this point raise over £900.00 wowee ! If you are reading this for the first time and you can offer any pennies please help us to raise much needed funds for our work! This is what we need the money for...

RE:Generation are creative dance classes offered to older adults across the county of Essex; in order to increase physical activity, to question the brain, and for older adults to meet in a safe environment to practice a shared endeavour to ultimately reduce social isolation and loneliness in older age.

The participants learn about the importance of movement and dance in older age and its effects on the brain and body, as well as been guided in how to adapt material for their varying physical abilities.

Having already raised £6400.00 from local grants and donations since August 2018 we now need YOUR HELP to support our classes to continue until throughout the winter months for when classes are most needed to get people out of the house, socialising and moving their bodies.

We would appreciate any support you can give and for our dancers they are itching to get back into the space as soon as possible, please help us to continue this great work.
