Story

Liberia is a low-income country that relies heavily on foreign assistance. Civil war and government mismanagement destroyed much of Liberia's economy, especially the infrastructure in and around the capital, Monrovia.

Therefore, An estimated 64 percent of Liberians live below the poverty line, of whom 1.3 million live in extreme poverty. Social safety nets are poorly developed. Agricultural production has improved since the end of the war, but the country still depends on food imports and is vulnerable to economic shock.

Due to the rate of poverty, the financial situation in the country is declining and most of the country's population find it hard to earn a living. The rate of unemployment has also skyrocketed. Most youths who can't find anything to do, now rely greatly on the use of drugs as they find it a rescue from the situations going on around them.

However, with an empowerment programme tagged "Christmas rescue", for the less privileged especially youths who are battling with drug addiction, i plan to assist youths living in poverty with the funds I get from this platform. A little effort and contribution will go a long way in helping people out there, starting with Liberia. I cannot do this on my own, which is why I need the help of anyone who is willing and able to come to the rescue of the less privileged in Liberia.

The plan is to create awareness among people, especially the youths, on the adverse effects of drug abuse to both individuals and to the economy as a whole. Also, to distribute foodstuff, clothes(not necessarily new) and gifts(for children) during Christmas period to families, to those who won't be able to provide for Christmas.
