Story

Lionel Hudson was an Askern Legend! Practically everyone in the village knew him and had a funny story to tell about him.

When he was robbed a few years ago, Askernites and Campsall rallied round to replace what had been taken, giving him money, clothing, meals etc ., and more importantly, friendship.

He was often seen riding his bike (to the pub!) and in later years his mobility scooter, and he will be sadly missed by many.

Terry Brennan has kindly taken on the task of arranging Lionel’s funeral and giving him a very special send-off.

We think that it would be a great shame to let a character like Lionel have an unmarked grave, so we are trying to raise enough money to give him a fitting headstone.

Please help by donating any amount, however small, to help us achieve this.

***********THE FAMILY HAVE NOW ASKED THAT A MEMORIAL PLAQUE BE BOUGHT INSTEAD, ANY MONEY LEFT OVER TO GO TO McMillan Nurses
