Valley Lodge Care Home, Matlock was Bill’s final home. The home has a super Activities Team, who provide a meaningful, creative, stimulating daily programme of events for residents. Bill enjoyed many of these and they greatly improved his quality of life. The residents have expressed a wish to grow their own vegetables. We would like to provide equipment for them - in Bill’s memory - to have their own raised-bed vegetable garden.

Also, Bill died peacefully, having received excellent end of life care from the dedicated team of carers and all other staff at Valley Lodge. We, his family, stayed with him throughout this time and were treated with great kindness and loving support. The care home would like to offer even better end of life care by purchasing a Cuddle Bed, where family can lie next to their loved one during this really difficult time. Any additional donations will go towards the considerable cost of this bed (£9000).
