Story

As most people will know, we sadly lost our beautiful daughter, Lottie, on 29th June 2026 at just 3 weeks and 6 days old.

We had spent her life in Arrowe Park Hospital as she was 6 weeks early and admitted to their Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) shortly after her birth. We were unbelievably grateful for the care she (and we) received there, and how much effort had gone into making it a comforting environment suitable for families. The hand-knitted blankets, toys, bonding squares and hats all made it a much more pleasant environment for Lottie and the other babies receiving care and treatment. Without other donations made to NICU such as books, toys, furniture & basic home comforts, we wouldn’t have been able to have our other two children visit and kept occupied, or have been able to make priceless memories with them such as reading a bedtime story with their baby sister.

During Lottie’s life, we spent our time living in the Arrowe Park Ronald McDonald House. This provided us with a comfortable room, washing and drying facilities, kitchen facilities, as well as toys, snacks and basic food items. This was at no cost whatsoever to ourselves and eased worry at a really difficult time. Ronald McDonald is a charitable organisation who rely on donations to provide family’s with the support and necessities we received whilst staying there.

After Lottie’s passing, we were able to stay in the Butterfly Suite (Arrowe Park’s bereavement suite), for 36 hours, giving us the time and privacy to allow friends & family members to meet our baby girl, and for us to spend some time loving her outside of an incubator. During our time there, we received a memory box, canvases with her footprints, hand and footprints for family members, foot casts, and much more. This was again, free of any charge & most importantly provided memories that will last us a lifetime. We were shocked to find that the butterfly suite receives no NHS funding, so everything there, as well as all of the beautiful memories we made with her, relied solely on donations.

For these reasons, we are asking for family flowers only please at Lottie’s funeral. Instead, we ask that people donate to this JustGiving so we can use the funds to buy items for Arrowe Park’s NICU and Ronald McDonald House, and make purchases for the Butterfly Suite in her memory.

100% of monies raised will go to these causes, and we will upload proof of how funds are spent, with receipts, once the money is received.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this, and for any support given. 💜
