Hi, my name is Remi and I run a small self funded bird rescue called Remi’s Rescue.

A few days ago, I went into Ipswich to feed a local pigeon flock. One little soul stood out. While the others moved freely, this pigeon was struggling—only able to walk on one leg, clearly in pain, yet still trying to keep going.

I couldn’t stop thinking about him.

The next day, I went back, determined to find him again. After some time and patience, I managed to catch him. Up close, the reality was even more heartbreaking. His leg appears to be badly broken, and he’s been surviving like this on the streets—vulnerable, hurting, and slowly fading.

His name is Hope. Because despite everything, he’s still here. Still fighting.

Hope now has a vet appointment this Thursday. From what I can see, it’s likely his leg will need to be amputated. As devastating as that sounds, it may be the only way to save his life. If left untreated, there is a real risk of infection setting in, and potentially sepsis. I can’t let him suffer like that.

I will be covering the cost of his care myself, as I always try to do, but this one is urgent and significant. Time is not on Hope’s side.

So I’m reaching out, humbly, to ask—if anyone is able to help, even in the smallest way, it could make all the difference. Every donation will go directly toward giving Hope the surgery and care he needs to survive, heal, and have a second chance at life.
