Story

Trying to find the right words to start this story is tough….

Many of you will know Remy, but for those that don’t, he truly is the most amazing, kind, funny and bravest little 8 year old we know.

Remy has had his share of heartache, having lost his daddy Jay 7 years ago. But he has navigated his life so far with such courage and bravery and we know Jay would be so proud of the young man Remy has become.

His mum Sam and step dad Arron are a testament to the incredible little man he is today and he is loved by everyone, especially his little sisters Lola and Immy, who he adores in equal measure!

Remy has a mad passion for all things football, nature, fishing and is always inquisitive about the world around him. He loves school and is always in his element playing with his cousins and friends.

Remy has been a big part of Jay’s Aim, the charity the family set up following on from his dad Jay’s sudden passing. Remy will always be there to support and is very proud to be part of his daddy’s legacy.

He simply is one in a million!

A couple of weeks ago, following on from having his tonsils out last month, they had the devastating news that Remy has t-cell lymphoblastic lymphoma, a form of blood cancer. They were told one of the tonsils that was removed was a very large ball of cancer and they have since found a mass on his chest also. There are really no words to describe how shocked and heartbroken everyone is, but Remy in his true style is being utterly incredible and beyond brave. In his own words ‘I have cancer, it’s pretty serious but totally curable’, which the drs agree with as they are hopeful by the end of his 2-3 year treatment, Remy would have kicked cancer’s butt to the curb!!

Remy started his treatment last week at Bristol Children’s Hospital. He is currently receiving his first of many high-dose aggressive chemotherapy (as well as countless other drugs and steroids). The next 2-3 years is going to be a very long and tough journey for him.

In the last 2 weeks so many people have reached out wanting to help and have asked about donating a gift, something to help the family during this time or something for them to look forward to. I know Sam and Arron have been blown away by the support and gestures of help. With much persuasion from friends and family Sam and Arron have agreed to let us set up this page so all those that have asked to help can.

We would love to be able to give them the opportunity to plan some treats and family days out for Remy between treatments when he is feeling well enough. Even a trip to see his favourite team Tottenham Hotspur play would be a dream for him. We also want to take some of the financial burden off them that this will inevitably cause. As well as helping with additional costs of fuel and food etc that mounts up with multiple long hospital stays.

So if anyone can spare a little to help this beautiful family on their long journey it would mean the world. Remy is a warrior and with his family, friends and community behind him we know he’s got this. 💪
