We're Taking on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge to Raise £2000 for Life-Changing Social Support at René House.

When someone transitions out of homelessness, getting accommodation is just the beginning. The real challenge is rebuilding confidence, combating social isolation, and developing independence skills.

Picture someone who's spent months sofa-surfing or rough-sleeping, hasn't socialized normally in years, and has forgotten what enjoying life actually feels like. Now imagine them laughing during a bowling night, feeling proud after a budgeting workshop, or hiking for the first time.

At René House, we know how much these social activities and support sessions transform resident's lives. The problem? We're funding them entirely ourselves, and it's becoming increasingly unsustainable.

With more referrals, rising costs, and less statutory funding available, we're struggling to provide the social support that our residents need throughout their recovery journeys.

That's why our Referrals Co-ordinator and Services Administrator, Rhanajai and Jodie, are tackling the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge on October 8th 2025 – 24 miles and 3 mountains in 12 hours!

Every day, they witness how these sessions make a massive difference to our residents' confidence, mood, and outlook – so they wanted to do something impactful, to make sure that we can keep doing them.

Your kind donations will fund:

⬟ Social outings that combat social isolation and build confidence

⬟ Life skills workshops covering budgeting, cooking, and independent living

⬟ A future hiking experience for residents – including equipment, accommodation, and transportation

⬟ Ongoing support sessions that help people transition from survival-mode to truly living
