Over the last few weeks whilst the UK has been in lock down we have been working closely with our beneficiaries throughout the pandemic, we have made over 1,900 phone calls and over 300 food deliveries during the lock down along with providing counselling sessions remotely online for 150 people. A humongous workload which as a charity who relies so heavily on being self funded through our cafe and automotive clubs its been a very expensive time but its been a time we have used to invest into our HQ. fully refurbishing the building ready to reopen to the public and the veterans, blue light community.
We have added new counselling suites, expanded the area to include more social space with a pool table, arcade machine, a brand new state of the art industrial kitchen and a new board room.
The place which sees 122 people per week who require help plus members of the public who find sanction here and the RAF pilots who fly in for breakfast. The list is endless, these doors see us bring over 400 people through each week making this business and charity a hub for all. It‘s the only place open 7 days a week for those in need, a place which hosts Help For Heroes, Military Veterans Service, Combat Stress, The Royal British Legion and The Fire Fighters Charity along with Greater Manchester Police meetings.
Now however, we face a very uncertain future. This morning, days from reopening we have come into a serious amount of leaks from the roof. Which was waiting for repair by ‘City Airport/Barton Airport’. These leaks are catastrophic to our building and we now risk losing all we have worked for. The possibility of closure is now very real. We are now asking you, the public to help. Help us raise the money we need for fixtures, repairs and to make our home open again.
Please share on social media, please help. If you need to get in touch email us on Craig@veteransgarage.co.uk

During this time we will continue to remotely support our veterans and blue light services, ensuring nobody is left behind.
