Story
I began working at Marleigh in December 2021 as the Estate and Facilities Officer, supporting the development of a safe, resilient and welcoming new community. For two years, I felt deeply connected to the people who lived there.
In January 2024, a significant public health emergency occurred. I was the only person on site managing the humanitarian response to a water contamination incident affecting around 1,000 residents. I supported the community to the best of my ability. Afterwards, I sought to understand what had happened and asked that lessons be learned, so that everyone could be safe and secure. Instead of receiving support, I found myself facing escalating hostility.
Soon after, I was suspended and then dismissed on three counts of gross misconduct. The process was not fair and the system did not protect me.
Restoration
This fundraiser is for restoration.
I am seeking to raise £4 million. This is an ambitious figure, and I recognise that some may baulk at it. However, it reflects the scale of harm, loss, and long-term impact experienced during and after the water contamination incident. It also reflects the need to create lasting repair and resilience for the Marleigh community.
Funds raised are intended to be shared four ways:
1. For my son and me: while my husband’s support prevents a financial crisis, I am seeking assistance because it is neither fair nor sustainable for me to have no independent income while carrying sole responsibility for raising my son half of the time.
2. For Peta, who acted as the chief volunteer during the water incident, to support her in caring for her pony, Rosie.
3. For my former caretaker, who lost her job alongside me, on 2 February 2024.
4. For the Marleigh community, to support projects that promote healing and long-term resilience within the boundary of Marleigh.
I call this Requatriax — a four-way restoration rooted in care, accountability, and fairness.
Update on Fund Management
At present, all donations are held in a cash ISA pending redistribution.
Peta is currently unable to accept donations, as doing so would conflict with other forms of support she receives.
My former caretaker has not responded to my messages.
A representative of the Marleigh Residents Association has confirmed that they do not wish to receive community funds, as this could interfere with their own grant applications. In light of this, I may establish a small, independent grant-giving fund to support community-based projects in Marleigh in a way that does not compromise other funding streams.
As of today, all donated funds remain safeguarded in a cash ISA until they can be distributed responsibly and in alignment with the principles above. I remain fully committed to the goal of four-way restoration, and I will not abandon it.
I Am Me
I am neurodivergent. I have ADHD and Autism. I see and process the world differently. I spoke up because I believed the truth mattered. I still do.
Transparency
I am uploading evidence to my website, including a clear timeline of events and upcoming tribunal dates.
The aim of the site is simple. To explain what happened at Marleigh and to bring all available evidence together in one place, so that lessons can be learned and the community can be safe and secure.
You can read the inside story here:
Communities deserve transparency and fairness.
Justice for Marleigh
The web domain www.justice4marleigh.org will be given to someone who can take forward the call for justice for the community as a whole. Compensation is now the only form of recompense available.
I would like to lead this work myself, but I am fully occupied testing the evidence at the Employment Tribunal and do not have the capacity. Time keeps moving on, and the community needs someone who can act now.
Thank You
Thank you for reading, for your support, and for standing with me on this journey.
