I've raised £400 to help fund veterinary investigations treatment for a neglected homeless kitty I found so she can be accepted in to a rescue shelter.

Story

Today the sweetest little kitty wobbled into my kitchen. She could barely stand up. Her bones were protruding from under her fur. She looked sad and withdrawn. She looked like she had given up. She ate 2 pouches of food and then sat infring of the water lapping every now again and not moving. Her eyes had no sparkle. She looked so fragile. He fur had come off in parts of her body. I believed she was a kitten she was so tiny. She wobbled out of the kitchen into the garden looking like her legs couldn’t carry her she was wobbling. Instinctively knew she wasn’t in a good way and was severely neglected if she even had a home at all. It wasn’t hard to tell. I wrapped her up in my jumper and took her to my vet. They said she was an older cat even though she was tiny. Her ribs and all her bones were sticking out of her. She was so gentle and completely surrended to us. The lovely vet told me that she was in poor condition and very neglected. She was starving and severely dehydrated. It was hard to see a kitty in such a bad way due to no fault of her own. The vet said that the RSPCA give them £60 for any stray that they treat. This along with the budget at the vet is able to pay for this kitty to have some subcutaneous fluid to help rehydrate her. They may t be her an antibiotic injection as her mouth was in a bad state and she had severe dental disease. And it would stretch to give her flea treatment. She said that they would need to make a decision whether to put her to sleep or not because a rescue centre was unlikely to take her if she wasn’t healthy. And to get her in a better condition may cost around £500 on dental work. Plus they suspect she may be hyperthyroid and would therefore need a blood test to diagnose this as well as ongoing treatment. With all of this they didn’t feel that a rescue centre would be willing to take her, or even an individual because of the the expense involved. She had a little bit of fight left in her because when the vet was assessing her joints she remarked that she could be strong when she wanted to be as she tried to walk away and walk across the vets table. She also had a little wobbly walk over the computer keyboard and seemed curious of her surroundings. She had the tiniest little face. I have left her at the vets and I am writing about her because I wondered if anyone wanted to donate toward her treatment perhaps she could have an opportunity to go to a loving home or a rescue shelter and a chance of being loved in her older years? If it was not in her best interests and the vet decided to put her to sleep at least it would be a decision based on her condition rather than lack of funds. I am creating a justgiving page to raise £500. ( I am struggling with using the site so I don’t have the link yet!) if anyone would like to donate and can afford to do so towards investigations, treatment and dental work please do. I will try and get the just giving page sorted. If she doesn’t make it then all the donations received with go to Boote Home for Cats in Liverpool to help the continue caring for homeless cats ❤️
