I've raised £350 to stop Pablo the cat from freezing to death this winter. With your help we can re-home him to his forever home that is waiting for him.

I'm writing this on behalf of a dear friend of mine, Nichola McAuley. Nic is a dog and horse lover by nature, so falling in love with a stray cat, especially one that lives in Ibiza when she lives in East Sussex was rather a surprise for her. But this cat is rather special.
This summer we rented a villa with some friends and discovered it came with a single complimentary stray villa cat. This cat loves people, he's not just any stray scavenging for food, he actually wants love and affection. He did a villa tour with every new guest that arrived. Happy to be wherever we were, 24 hours a day.
Last year he lost his mum over the winter. We are determined that this won't happen to Pablo this year.
Whilst we were there, Nichola spotted he wasn't looking very well with a poorly eye and distended stomach. So my husband and her took him to the vet, where they discovered he had worms that had nearly made it into his lungs. He is now worm free, he's been vaccinated for rabies and is microchipped and now has a passport. He is now ready to begin his new life in his forever home in the UK on a farm where he will have access to rolling fields much like where he is currently living in Ibiza.
So this is the heartbreaking bit and the reason that I am setting up this page. Ever since we got back from holiday in September Nic has been working all the hours under the sun to raise enough money to bring this amazing cat home from Ibiza to live on a beautiful farm in East Sussex. Out of season this is a really complicated journey of trains, planes and automobiles that has required an awful lot of pre-planning. So the day finally comes when she has saved up enough money to travel to Ibiza to make this happen. Including offering to transport somebody else's kitten home that was also being adopted in order to share the costs. It's taken her from Sep to Dec to accumulate enough money to do so.
So it was pretty devastating news last week when she and her mum arrived at the villa only to discover that there were no signs of Pablo in regular residence, just scraps of evidence that he has been periodically visiting and sleeping there since the villa has been unoccupied out of season. We had understood that he was being fed regularly (and providing food) but on arrival it was clear that he hadn't been as all the food and water bowls were empty. Poor little guy.
The following day they get up at the crack of dawn and spend all day at the villa, hoping the sound of people, life, food, a bbq, music might lure him back. But alas again no sign of him.
Their last day arrives and they get up with the dawn chorus and go again to the villa for one last look. It's pouring with rain, windy and freezing cold. And then an hour before they have to leave (as they have committed to taken the other person's kitten home), he appears, cold, frightened, miaowing and then runs away. They called and called but he was too frightened to come forward. She was in tears (I was too). After all the hours she'd worked, all the planning that had gone into this planned adoption, they sadly came home without him but honoured the promise to bring back Japer the kitten.
After all this sadness we have amassed an amazing team of volunteers who are all working together to ensure that we can bring Pabs home. They are visiting every day and we hope that we can humanly trap him so he can be fostered somewhere warm until Nic has enough money to make travel plans to bring him home again. If this crowdfunding campaign is successful, and all of the above goes to plan this could be as soon as next week. We need to act fast as the winter is closing in.
So if you would like to help, we would really really appreciate anything you can afford to give to help give this amazing little guy a life line home.
Ps Jasper the kitten has successfully settled into his new home with his new family in Somerset.
Many many thanks in advance for your help.
Kate
