I've raised £600 to say thank you and give a leaving gift to Rev David Babbington from St John's Church, Walsall Wood.

Since David came to St John's Church in February 2019 he has continuously served the local community. He has worked with the local schools, visited the sick, the dying, the bereaved, conducting around 140 funerals since the beginning of the pandemic and providing support to families.
He worked with the Horse and Jockey pub to collect for the local foodbank; arranging for Santa to visit St John's when other venues couldn't open and commissioned a professional artist to design the Walsall Wood Paper Nativity which was given to nearly 500 children in the local schools. He didn't stop there as he provided online services throughout lockdown and continued to do so alongside in-church services.
David arranged an outdoor Carol Service/Concert at the Baron's Court Hotel together with the Staffordshire Band, and now the Staffordshire Brass Band have St John's as their permanent home.
All of these things have happened alongside the 'normal' priestly duties of running a church!
Sadly, David will be leaving us this August to take up a new post in West Yorkshire. After he has done so much for all of the community, it would be wonderful to give him a gift that reflects our appreciation for all he has done so he can always remember us.
Please dig deep into your pockets to show your appreciation.
Many thanks.
