Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
This August as a family we shall be making a visit to Zimbabwe to support young and vulnerable people who desperately need some assistance.
Working with UK and Zimbabwean volunteers who are part of the fantastic 'Tariro' charity we will seek to raise funds to pay school fees for poverty stricken but incredibly deserving children who really do need someone to simply give them a chance in life (education is not free in Zimbabwe).
As a priest in the Church of England serving in the diocese of Norwich, I have been blessed to have received formal training and theological education. Therefore as well as supporting the young people in Zimbabwe, I will also spend time working with and training the faithful ministers who are currently serving the Church in Zimbabwe, where theological education and ministerial development is expensive and limited.
Our two young daughters will also join us on this mission and they are both keen to help their Zimbabwean peers to develop their English language skills and to also foster links between their schools and Zimbabwean schools.
Whilst in Zimbabwe we will also be spending some time visiting John Bradburne's leper settlement in Mutemwa. Lepers continue to be some of the most neglected people in the world and therefore we are keen to support the current residents living at Mutemwa in any way that we can. We are inspired by the amazing work of the saintly, John Bradburne, and all that he did to support lepers.
Finally Danni, as an optician, will be providing free eye tests wherever we go for all who would appreciate one. Eye care is not free in Zimbabwe, therefore Danni is going to be extremely busy and in huge demand!
To raise awareness of our mission and in the build up to our trip I am also going to be spending 24 hours in constant prayer from 12-13 March. During that time I will be praying for the people of Zimbabwe and praying for God's blessing for our plans. All are welcome to join me!
The work we would like to do on our mission to Zimbabwe does require us to raise significant funds. We need to raise funds to pay school fees for children and also potentially for any eye care treatment that Danni discovers whilst she is conducting eye tests. Travelling to and around Zimbabwe also requires significant funds, therefore, any support that you feel able to offer would be greatly appreciated and I am certain will make a life-changing difference to the lives of many people.
Thank you once again for taking the time to read this.
Revd Ben.

Praying that you can meet your target for the wide ranging need in Zimbabwe that you have outlined, but especially for those children and adults who should not be denied the education they deserve.
