Story

Farming has ceased on 150 acres of land at Coombeshead in Devon. We are at the beginning of a new journey, one which will give the land an opportunity to relax, recover and re adjust. Our vision and hope are that gradually, slowly, life will return. New life, not hemmed in by hedgerows or restricted to narrow verges but full and complete.

Alongside this we are breeding species that are extinct in the UK such as beavers, and white storks, or extremely rare such as watervoles and wild cats. These animals are being used to repopulate sites across the UK.

For more information about our site and our projects please visit our website www.rewildingcoombeshead.co.uk.

We are hoping to raise £10000 to support our critical projects.

- Expanding our white storks breeding pens and paying towards their up keep.

- Improving our beaver breading pen facility.

- Preparing land and habitat for our glow worm re-introduction and breeding program.

- Paying for wildlife survey and ecology work, to ensure we maximise the biodiversity on our site.

Please donate what you can. Those who donate £40 will become a friend of Coombeshead and receive a ‘Friends of Coombeshead’ Certificate, a free quarterly newsletter emailed to you with updates on the project and how your donation has helped, and also exclusive invitations to behind-the-scenes events plus an invitation to a free annual Friends open day which will include talks, updates on our projects, food and a glass of bubbly. Please email enquiriescoombeshead@gmail.com with the subject 'new friend' so we can send you our newsletter and your certificate! :-)
