    Story

I'm running to raise money to support 2 charities that have helped develop my son Pierce into the confident, capable athlete he is today.
London Titans Wheelchair Basketball Club and the England Amputee Football Association are both charities that depend entirely on donations to run, and they also have in common many of their aims and values - children enjoying sport, developing their capabilities, teamwork and supporting one another.
They are professionally run by volunteers and they make a huge difference to the athletes lives, and their families.

I'm going to run a 50km ultra marathon (31 miles in old money) on September 9th to support these causes. This is a massive commitment for me, but compared to the time and effort the players and coaches put in, it fades into the distance.

All of the money raised will go to the charities to help fund the support that they provide, the race is self funded.
I will share the money 50% to each charity, but if you want to support one charity over the other, please put FB (for Football) or BB (for basketball) in the notes when you donate, and I'll allocate your donation to that charity.

Hi, Many thanks for your kind donation to support Pierce's Wheelchair Basketball and amputee football charities. The race was this weekend just past, but unfortunately I became ill whilst on holiday in France and spent a couple of weeks in hospital. Thankfully I am on the path to recovery now, but I was unable to start the race. If you'd like to hold back your donation, please let me know, otherwise I will be passing all the money donated to the charities next week. Thank you again for your donation, every penny makes a difference. Paul
