Hi all,

As you may or may not know, this is the year I turn 40, and as a result I have entered midlife crisis territory and signed up to take part in the Cardiff Half Marathon which takes place a few days after my 40th birthday in October. Some have asked me if I am taking part for charity, which I am not. Therefore, I decided to set up a JustGiving page so that people who wished to donate money **IF** I end up taking part in the run (it's currently 6 months away, so plenty of time for cold feet ;)) can do so.

I am not wishing for birthday presents either, so if you feel the need to spend money on me, please donate here instead ;)

Now, as to where I will be sending the donations: I am sure, like me, many of you have been watching the atrocities that are taking place in Syria with a feeling of helplessness. Therefore, I have decided that any donations I receive will be passed on to support the work of the White Helmets.
