Happy World Rhino Day and thank you all so much, together we helped to raise nearly £10,000! London’s Save the Rhino International made up the amount to £10,671 and it's now with Simson at Save the Rhino Trust Namibia and helping with the vital field patrols to protect the rhinos. There are approx 5500 black rhino, 18500 white rhino, 3600 Indian rhino, 68 Javan rhino and less than 80 Sumatran rhinos left so they desperately need our help. A massive thank you to everyone who joined the mile swim yesterday. Well done Helen, Rob, Olly, Norman (he's 82!!), Will & the Goat Ledge swim group. Kayak support & safety - Holly, Julian and Lou!! And, thanks to everyone who came to the rhino talk at Goat Ledge afterwards. I've had messages from SRT CEO Simson, to say how thrilled he is for all the support. This is so wonderful, we've raised over £8,000 and as a result we're going to aim for £10,000. I can't say thank you enough times, it'll make such a difference to the guys at Save the Rhino Trust Namibia, they'll be overjoyed. The money is for fuel for the patrol trucks and field supplies for the trackers. They desperately need to get out there because 2 rhino have been poached recently, the first in a couple of years, and this is very worrying.
