Story

I am raising money for Fr John Luke who is leading the work on the Islands of Rhodes and Kos to support young children and their families who fled by boat to escape the crisis.

Steven (Fr John Luke and I ) trained together as nurses at The London Hospital - Steven is now a Franciscan priest in Rhodes. Last year you helped me raise nearly £3000 which was used to give the children and their families the little things we take for granted.

This year the situation has worsened for the refugees in Rhodes. Last week they were forcibly removed from the unofficial refugee camp, their few belongings and toys and makeshift dwellings were bulldozed and they were transported by boat to Kos. Their position there is unknown at this time and Fr Luke has not yet been given permission to visit them.

A number of refugees fled the camp and evaded capture - the issue for Fr luke is now how these homeless refugees will be supported.

You support allows Fr John Luke to buy fresh fruit, sweets, colouring books and pens and secondhand toys such as scooters for the children and much needed medication for chronic long term conditions and the infections and skin conditions which have arisen from their living conditions.
