On the 5th December (the last Monday of Term) we will be rowing the ENTIRE distance of the River Thames (346km, or 215 miles) in aid of the East Midlands Air Ambulance and our BOAT FUND!
Last year, one of our respected Senior Men tragically lost his Dad Simon. He passed away quickly and without warning, so we want to help out the charities that helped him. The East Midlands Air Ambulance provides support for thousands of people that need it every year. We are cycling to Paris next Easter, already raising nearly £1500. We want to raise as much as we can for the East Midlands Air Ambulance and remember Freddie's Dad.
In addition to this, we are raising money for a new boat for the new season. Financially, we operate almost entirely from membership money. This money does not allow us to invest in new boats that are thousands of pounds. By rowing the distance of the thames (346km, or 215 miles) we will be able to improve our fleet, accompany a larger amount of members, and become a better club for it.
There will be 8 Rowing Machines OUTSIDE WINDSOR BUILDING where our members will row for around 5 HOURS to complete the challenge. We hope to see you there on the day giving us encouragement and helping us. Thank you for reading, and thank you donating! Any little bit helps!
