Story

Last year I wrote and devised a play called "I'm just a little bit OCD" which explores what it is really like to suffer with OCD, compared to how it is often portrayed in Memes or in casual conversations. I am looking for help with funding so I can take this play further, as a student I am struggling to finance props, pay venue hire and general expenses of putting on a show. Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated by myself and the entire creative team. I had OCD for 12 years without knowing it because I thought, like many others that OCD meant people who like to clean their hands and be extremely organised, and I was far from being at all organised. The stigma surrounding intrusive thoughts needs to broken. 90% of the population experience intrusive and often disturbing thoughts, but when these thoughts cannot be logically dismissed and meaning is attached, someone with OCD will experience extreme anxiety and guilt, compulsions can arise to cancel out or neutralise these thoughts. It is my mission to reach out to those experiencing these unwanted thoughts and tell them are not alone, whilst making those who aren't aware able to offer support and general understanding to sufferers. Through the use of dark comedic stand up and real life experience, "I'm just a little bit OCD" educates and entertains. Please donate any amount however small, so we can continue to produce the play and get it seen by as many people as possible.
