    Story

I am 14 years old and have been suffering from anorexia nervosa since the age of 13. In the summer of 2107, my weight took a turn for the worst and I reached a BMI of below 13 (for those of you know do you not understand BMI's; a recommended healthy BMI is 20 and 14 is severely underweight). I had been eating less than 200 calories per day which is a tenth of a recommended daily intake and that was on a good day.

I was referred to CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services) in November 2016 and was weighed twice a week and also had appointments with a dietician twice a week. This didn't help me at all and in June I was admitted to general hospital where I stayed for over two weeks with a nurse 24/7 as I was a risk to myself and the doctors were concerned that I was suicidal. Instead of being discharged from the hospital, I was taken to the Priory Hospital and received inpatient care which is when you stay away from home. I was there for around 4 and a half months which is an extremely short time however my team thought I was ready to go back to CAMHS. While I was at the Priory I spoke weekly with a therapist who I had an incredible bond with. I was able to open up to her about my anxiety, OCD, my parent's divorce and a lot more however after being discharged from the Priory I was unable to meet with her anymore.

I am currently still with CAMHS (the one which I am at is over an hour away from my house meaning that every week I miss at least half a day of school) however I am no longer receiving sufficient therapy. This has led to a relapse and I have become underweight once again and am struggling to put it back on, especially without a good support system.

My parents split up in the summer of 2017 and are in the process of trying to sell my house but due to them both living separately and having to rent an apartment each; financial worries are prominent. My parents have spoken to the Priory about my situation and they have agreed to allow me to speak to my old therapist again however the NHS cannot fund it. The therapy will cost over 100 pounds per session which currently my parents financially cannot afford to pay and are struggling to be allowed to take out another loan from the bank and without this therapy; my future and recovery is at risk so I am in a very difficult situation which is why I am coming to all of you with my problem.

I understand that there are larger problems in the world but I am asking that if you are able to donate some money please do. This money will go purely towards therapy and IF there is any left overs it will go to a charity named B-Eat which is all about eating disorders. Thank you for reading my story.
