I'm on a quest to raise £3,500 as part of my volunteer ambulance and medical equipment convoy driver mission to Ukraine in April 26. I am joining my good mate Steve Eccleshall on the April 26 Convoy, he's a seasoned Ukraine ambulance convoy driver, a very active volunteer, and an expert medical equipment donation forager.
I have signed up to drive 1,318 miles over 3 days, across 7 European countries to Lviv Ukraine with the Driving Ukraine team, to deliver a vehicle that is destined for work on the Ukrainian frontline.
These vehicles, pickup trucks and ambulances, purchased in the UK and modified by dedicated volunteers, will be filled to the brim with medical supplies and equipment, and ultimately placed with essential teams in Ukraine including: the Ambulance service, 4x4 evacuation, first-aid responders, foreign volunteer medics, humanitarian bomb disposal, hospitals, established community contacts, government bodies and humanitarian organisations.
The urgent need for assistance in Ukraine is undeniable, especially when the international community's attention is distracted. The longer this invasion persists, the more challenging it becomes for Ukraine.
The toll of this conflict is staggering, with tens of thousands of civilians killed, countless more injured, and hundreds of billions of dollars in infrastructure damage. Ukraine faces the largest displacement crisis in Europe since World War II, with 6.2 million Ukrainians forced into becoming refugees. Nearly half of Ukraine's population, 18 million people, require humanitarian aid.
The unrelenting war in Ukraine has caused the largest refugee crisis in Europe since World War II. There are still tens of thousands of Ukrainians in cities under constant, indescriminate bombardment, mothers and young children are predominantly baring the brunt.
I would love your support in raising £3,500, and beyond to source and transport a 4x4 vehicle, acquired through second-hand auctions and modified for their life-saving missions. Money raised over this target will go towards medical equipment and hopefully a specialist "Baby Pod" to install for the safe transportation of injured and very sick Babies on their journey to much needed treament.The Baby Pod is a revolutionary infant transport device designed to ensure the safety, warmth, and comfort of newborns during transport.
