Story

We are raising money in memory of our lovely Dad/Grandpa to buy a dementia table for Eothen Residential Home, whose staff and carers loved and cared for him so much in the last 4 years of his life.
The Tovertafel Table (Magic table) projects interactive images and games onto any surface. The colourful objects respond to hand and arm movements so residents get to play with the light itself. It keeps residents alert, activated and stimulated. Dementia sufferers need mental stimulation and having had a trial at Richards care home he had a fabulous response to it, as did many of the other residents.
Eothen are currently working tirelessly to raise enough money to buy one of these for their residents. Having spent so much time visiting there the past 4 years the reality of placing your loved one in a care home really hits home. We were very lucky, they cared and loved for him in the best way we could have hoped for. But, as we all know, some of these ladies and gents don‘t have a visitor for weeks, sometimes months. The staff do all they can to make them feel loved and having trialed this at Eothen they feel this table would really benefit them.
As a family we are requesting family flowers only at his funeral. We would love it if anyone who knew and loved Richard or anyone who would like to make a difference to many elderly people, to donate anything they can towards this table in his memory. Words cannot express how much we loved our Dad/Grandpa, he was the kindest man with the biggest heart. We think a lasting tribute in his memory to help the wellbeing of his fellow residents would be a great way to remember him.
Lets do this and make a difference!
