Story
I have decided to take the plunge and complete an Iron Man!
This has been on my radar ever since I started Triathlon's but always saw this as a too bigger challenge and age being against me!
Until last year's Intrepid Finance Conference where Mark Pollock gave an inspirational speech on how he completed an Iron Man blind! Linked to support for 12 to 14 hours, what more inspiration do you need.
So a year on and my life outside of work is spent in the sea, pounding the streets or trying to clock up miles on the bike.
And what better way to complete the Iron Man than raising funds for Sidikie Karqbo's charity, Project Dream which is about providing education and supporting dreams in Sid's hometown of Bradford, Sierra Leone. The everyday challenges faced through poverty mean children miss out on so much and at the moment, owing to the present classroom space and inadequate education service, the school is unable to accommodate large numbers of pupils, especially girls where 60% will miss out. It is a widespread but unacknowledge problem that girls will miss school because of menstruation.
These are some of the major challenges in the Education and Health Sector which have only been made worst since the Ebola outbreak two years ago. There is no government support and towns like Bradford rely on intervention from individual charities or organisations.
My mission is help Project Dream and raise £5000 by the end of 2017.
Be Intrepid!
