Story
The Willow Room is a space in Kingston Hospital for relatives to rest and reflect at times when a loved one is critically unwell. It is simple - just a couple of sofas and a chair that reclines - but it gave us a place to sleep for the last few days of Richard's life.
The Friends of Kingston Hospital collected donations to create this space from a previously unused hospital room. It receives no funding from the NHS. We hope that our donation will go towards furnishing the room so that it may help more families like ours.

Richard was an absolute gentleman and unfailingly cheerful - he always had a ready smile and was always happy to help out. We will miss him.

James, this comes with the fondest memories of the nicest neighbour, and with love to you, Sue, Sophie and family. Having spent long hours in the Willow Room, I know it's an invaluable resource.

Both I and my late husband Ken worked with Richard in Burroughs and enjoyed those days. May you and all the family draw strength from our respect for him. With my prayers for comfort at this sad time
