Story
On the 4th September 2016 I, along with some close friends and family am jumping out of an aeroplane. I will not be entirely alone.....it is a 10,000 foot tandem skydive so I will be with an instructor.
We are doing this to raise funds for the BRI Children's Hospital who looked after me for 3 months from August to October 2015 whilst I was suffering from Auto-immune Encephalitis. This is a condition that affected my brain, causing deep emotional discomfort, drastic changes in my personality and behaviour. Some of the effects were that as a 15 year old I forgot how to walk and eat as well as losing any memory of almost 4 months of my life.
BRI Children's Hospital looked after me and walked me through the course of recovery. I am now 100% better and was discharged in April 2016. This would not have been possible without the help and support of the team at BRI, nurses, consultants and support staff alike were all there for me. My recovery time was made comfortable by the caring, patient and expert teams who looked after us.
By raising some money we are going to contribute towards to buy some more equipment for the ward to help other children with this or similar illnesses. The money will also help to make the lives of their families more comfortable during a traumatic period in any families life.

That jump is a tribute both to the fantastic medics in our hospitals, and to yourselves for having the courage to face the fear and jump out of a plane.

Now fully recovered from the events of 2015. I have just taken my GCSE's and am waiting for the results on the 23rd August. In between times I am enjoying a long holiday before going to Falmouth Marine School to do a Diploma in Marine Biology.
